Qué Plantar: our green home

Concrete decisions, step by step. Less noise. More life.

Our story

We are Natalia and Jorge. It all began with the desire to have a vegetable garden. We loved the thought that a small patch of soil could produce food for our own table, but we soon discovered that a vegetable garden could be much more than that.

We began to see it as a garden too: a space that changes with every season, where crops, colors, shapes, and companion plantings can be combined. Sometimes we plant something because we enjoy eating it and other times simply because it looks beautiful there.

That is how we learned: observing, experimenting, and asking questions. What to plant at each time of year, which crops could grow well together, how much a small space could produce, or why one plant thrived where another did not. Even that lettuce that appeared where nothing seemed able to grow ended up teaching us something.

Qué Plantar grew from that curiosity: a place to share what we learn and help you discover what can grow in your own space, with the time and resources you have.

Because growing can also mean this: producing food, creating beauty, and enjoying what happens when something begins to grow.

To choose what to plant, we look at four things

Your climate and the season

Not everything grows the same way in every place or throughout the year.

The space you have

Balcony, patio, terrace, or garden soil: every space offers different possibilities.

The time you want to devote

Some crops need more attention, while others fit a gentler pace.

Your soil and available water

Understanding the soil and access to water helps us choose crops that are realistic and sustainable.
